Bremelanotide for the Treatment of Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder: Two Randomized Phase 3 Trials

Two phase 3 trials evaluated premenopausal women with hypoactive sexual desire disorder. Desire and distress measures improved versus placebo, while satisfying sexual events did not differ significantly.

Study limitations

The studied indication and population are specific. Nausea was common. The results cannot be generalized into a performance-enhancement recommendation or to unregulated PT-141 products.
