Human randomized trial / 2023

Triple-Hormone-Receptor Agonist Retatrutide for Obesity — A Phase 2 Trial

Study overview

This placebo-controlled phase 2 trial followed 338 adults for 48 weeks. The investigational receptor agonist produced weight reduction across treatment groups; gastrointestinal events and increases in heart rate were reported.

Limitations: A phase 2 result does not establish long-term safety, outcomes in excluded groups, or regulatory approval. This record describes the 2023 publication, not a current regulatory-status assessment.

Human randomized trial / 2022

LY3437943, a triple receptor agonist: a phase 1b trial in people with type 2 diabetes

Study overview

A 12-week phase 1b study enrolled 72 adults with type 2 diabetes. The authors reported an approximate six-day half-life for LY3437943 (retatrutide). Gastrointestinal events were common. This historical trial supports the half-life teaching example, not a personal regimen.

Limitations: Small early-phase population, short follow-up and substantial discontinuation limit generalization. A population pharmacokinetic estimate is not an individual blood-level prediction, a safe washout interval, or evidence that a research vial matches the trial formulation.

Human randomized trial / 2022

Tirzepatide Once Weekly for the Treatment of Obesity

Study overview

A 72-week randomized trial enrolled 2,539 adults with obesity or overweight and a weight-related complication, excluding diabetes. Tirzepatide groups had greater average weight reduction than placebo.

Limitations: Results apply to the enrolled population and monitored trial conditions. Gastrointestinal adverse events and treatment discontinuations matter alongside efficacy; these findings do not establish the quality or safety of unregulated products.

Human randomized trial / 2019

Bremelanotide for the Treatment of Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder: Two Randomized Phase 3 Trials

Study overview

Two phase 3 trials evaluated premenopausal women with hypoactive sexual desire disorder. Desire and distress measures improved versus placebo, while satisfying sexual events did not differ significantly.

Limitations: The studied indication and population are specific. Nausea was common. The results cannot be generalized into a performance-enhancement recommendation or to unregulated PT-141 products.

Human randomized trial / 2014

Effect of tesamorelin on visceral fat and liver fat in HIV-infected patients with abdominal fat accumulation

Study overview

A six-month, double-blind trial randomized 50 adults with HIV receiving antiretroviral treatment. Imaging showed reductions in visceral and liver fat in the tesamorelin group compared with placebo.

Limitations: This was a small, specific population. Imaging changes are not proof of general weight-loss benefit or long-term clinical outcomes. Early glucose changes were observed.

In-vitro study / 2007

In vitro observations on the influence of copper peptide aids for the LED photoirradiation of fibroblast collagen synthesis

Study overview

Human fibroblasts in culture were exposed to red light and copper-GHK. The authors measured cell viability and collagen-related laboratory markers.

Limitations: Human-derived cells in a dish are not a human trial. Combined light and peptide exposure complicates attribution, and the findings do not validate injectable use.

Human early-phase trial / 2006

Prolonged stimulation of growth hormone and insulin-like growth factor I secretion by CJC-1295 in healthy adults

Study overview

Early randomized studies in healthy adults measured changes in circulating growth hormone and IGF-I after the long-acting GHRH analogue CJC-1295.

Limitations: Hormone concentrations are surrogate endpoints. These short studies do not establish benefits for recovery, body composition, or long-term safety. Long-acting CJC-1295 must not be conflated with other products sold under similar names.

Animal & cell study / 2003

Gastric pentadecapeptide BPC 157 accelerates healing of transected rat Achilles tendon and in vitro stimulates tendocytes growth

Study overview

A rat tendon-injury model and cultured tendon cells were used to investigate BPC-157. The authors reported changes in mechanical, functional, and tissue observations.

Limitations: A surgically created rat injury is not a human clinical trial. This paper does not establish a human dose, treatment effect, or safety profile.

Animal & cell study / 1998

Ipamorelin, the first selective growth hormone secretagogue

Study overview

Preclinical pharmacology characterized the pentapeptide ipamorelin and compared growth hormone release with other secretagogues in laboratory models.

Limitations: Selectivity in these models does not establish long-term human safety or benefits for sleep, injury recovery, or athletic performance.
